Women Made In The Image of God

The Bible says there is neither male nor female where God is concerned because we are all one in Christ (Galatian 3:28). Galatians is really talking about our faith, and how it is not limited to gender, race, or freedom. We who believe, are all one because of Gods’ Son, Jesus Christ.

Yet God made man and woman and He blessed them equally, with the same authority, rights, and privileges (Genesis 1:26-28). Jesus died on Calvary so that you and I can have the same abundant life any man can have. All we must do is believe. You might say,  believing is easier said than done. I think that depends on the one who is being challenged to believe. We tend to have faith in our own limited abilities. Maybe that’s it. We know our limitations and therefore we depend on ourselves as far as we can go. It takes little to no faith to operate in a limited dimension. However, to walk in the dimension the Lord has called both man and woman to walk in, requires faith.

There was a young lady named Mary, who saw an angel appear before her telling her she had found favor with God. He told here she would give birth to a Son. She asked how that was even possible when she had never been with a man. Gabriel the angel, began to tell her of Gods’ plan including the work of the Holy Spirit, and how the child she would give birth to, would be the Sone of God . However, not completely sure of this Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word” (Luke 1:26-38).

Mary made the decision to accept what the Lord said about her. One reason is because she understood she belonged to the Lord. She referred to herself as the Lords’ maidservant. When we decide to lean not on our own understanding, but to trust completely in the Lord, for we belong to Him, then we can do not just some things, but all things He has equipped us to do.

March is women’s history month. I want to encourage you to walk in everything the Lord has spoken over you. If you don’t know what He think about you, ask Him. God made you, therefore He knows all there is to know about you. Ask Him to show you your gifts, strengths, and talents. No one else can be you so you must do it yourself. There is greatness in you, for you are ade in the Lords’ image.
